Ask for the split in ChatGPT

The SplitSeas ChatGPT integration is being prepared for Directory review. It is not publicly listed yet. This page will be updated with the install link after approval and publication.

What to include

Give the people, expense amounts and currencies, expense dates, who paid, who shared each expense, and the currency for the balances. Use nicknames if you prefer. Do not include bank details or passwords.

“Split a USD 90 dinner equally between Ana, Ben and Cam. Ana paid on January 6, 2025. Show balances in USD.”

“Ana paid USD 200 and Ben paid MXN 1000 on January 6, 2025. Split equally among Ana, Ben, Cam and Dan in USD.”

“Ana paid USD 5 and Ben paid USD 7 for dinner on January 6, 2025. Use shares Ana 1, Ben 3. Show balances in USD.”

What the tools do

Split shared expenses computes exact shares, net balances and suggested transfers, retrieving dated rates when needed. Get a dated exchange rate answers an explicit reference-rate question. The calculation tool retrieves its own rates, so a separate rate lookup is unnecessary.

Corrections and privacy

When you change an expense, ChatGPT must send the complete updated trip again. SplitSeas does not remember the previous result. ChatGPT may retain your conversation under its own settings and policies; that is separate from this calculator.

The integration cannot save trips, retrieve your history, contact participants, access bank accounts or send money. It gives reference calculations, not live trading quotes. Availability and tool selection depend on ChatGPT and your account settings.
