Privacy policy

Calculator inputs

Trip names, participant names, expense descriptions, amounts, currencies, dates, payer contributions and shares entered on the website stay in the current browser tab's memory. We do not store them in a database, cookies or browser storage. Refreshing or closing the tab clears the inputs. Use nicknames and avoid entering sensitive details.

Exchange rates

The website sends currency codes and dates to our Cloudflare Worker. The Worker requests rates from Frankfurter. These rate requests do not include names, descriptions, trip names, payer information or amounts. The provider receives the outgoing service request and handles it under its own practices. See Frankfurter.

ChatGPT integration

When used in ChatGPT, the selected tool receives the complete trip data that ChatGPT sends, including names and expense details, or a currency/date query. Our Worker processes it in memory to return the calculation. We do not persist or log tool request bodies, trip contents or results. Request memory lasts only for processing the request. We do not access or reconstruct your full conversation. ChatGPT conversation retention and controls are separate, under OpenAI's privacy policy and your account settings.

Sharing

Copying is deliberate. A summary includes trip name, names, total, paid/share/net balances, suggested transfers and dated rates, but excludes expense descriptions. A share link encodes the summary after #. That fragment is read by the recipient's browser and is not sent in the HTTP request to our server. It is not encrypted. Anyone with the link can read and forward it; it cannot be revoked. Text summaries and copied links may be stored by any service or person you send them to. We cannot delete their copies.

Hosting and service metadata

Cloudflare delivers the website and processes requests. It may process IP addresses, request metadata and security information for service delivery and protection under Cloudflare's privacy policy. Hosting and third-party processing can occur in countries outside your own. Application request/body logging is disabled. We do not set tracking cookies, run advertising, load third-party analytics scripts, create visitor profiles or sell personal data. Aggregate hosting metrics may show request volume, errors and latency; they do not contain calculator inputs. We do not control Cloudflare's independent security retention.

Support emails

If you email us, we receive your email address and message through Gmail to answer the request. Do not send complete trip data, account credentials, bank/card details or sensitive documents. We keep support correspondence only as needed to resolve the request and normally delete it within 12 months after resolution, unless longer retention is necessary for a legal obligation or an unresolved dispute. Gmail processing follows Google's privacy policy.

Your choices

Use nicknames, clear your tab, and review a summary before sharing. For access, correction, deletion or other applicable privacy requests concerning support correspondence, email us. We cannot recover or erase trips we do not store, recipients' copies, or ChatGPT history. Use the relevant provider's controls for that data. We use voluntarily supplied support information to answer you, and necessary request metadata to operate and protect the service. Where applicable, local privacy law may provide additional rights and a right to complain to a privacy authority.

Children and updates

The service is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy when practices change and will show the new effective date. Material changes will be described here before new data collection begins.
