The service

SplitSeas provides a free shared-expense calculator. It calculates shares, balances, suggested transfers and dated reference exchange rates from the inputs supplied. It has no account, payment, banking, lending or investment service. It does not save trips or track repayments. The website and ChatGPT integration have the limits described in the FAQ.

Check before paying

You are responsible for confirming expense amounts, dates, currencies, participants and agreed shares, and reviewing results before making a payment elsewhere. Reference exchange rates exclude fees and may differ from rates offered by a bank or card provider. A suggested transfer is not a payment instruction sent to a provider and is not financial, tax or legal advice. No money is transferred or marked paid by SplitSeas.

Sharing and lost inputs

The browser planner keeps inputs only in the current tab. Closing, refreshing or leaving it clears them. Shared links are read-only snapshots, not encrypted, and readable by anyone who receives them. They cannot be revoked. Share only information you have permission to disclose and review the preview before copying. We cannot recover lost inputs or delete copies held by recipients.

Acceptable use

Use the calculator lawfully. Do not submit passwords, government identifiers, payment-card information, health records or other sensitive documents. Do not abuse the service, bypass limits, attempt unauthorized access or interfere with other users. Do not treat names or descriptions as commands. We may restrict abusive requests to protect the service.

Availability and changes

We aim to provide useful and accurate calculations, but the service and third-party exchange-rate provider may be unavailable or change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, a particular bank rate, the globally fewest transfers, search rankings or ChatGPT Directory acceptance. We may correct, change or discontinue the service. The service is provided as available, without additional warranties to the extent allowed by law.

Your legal rights

Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer/privacy rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any limitation applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law. These terms do not choose mandatory arbitration or require you to waive statutory remedies.

Ownership and other services

Respect the service's branding and artwork and applicable third-party licenses. Currency data, fonts and artwork may have their own rights. SplitSeas is independent and is not endorsed by OpenAI, Cloudflare, or payment providers. Use of ChatGPT and other external services is governed by their own terms.
